Shoal Bay Villa is a secure, specialist dementia care home on Auckland's sunny North Shore.  With up to 26 residents only in our care at anytime, we offer a safe, homely environment.

We offer a totally obscure, secure home set amongst lovely gardens that cover fences and gates so our residents feel secure.  Our home is a beautiful 1920's character villa built around a beautiful garden courtyard. Our home has many beautiful era characteristics including ornate fireplaces, grand ceilings, native wood floors and stained glass features throughout.

We have a variety of single and double rooms that are warm and open out to either the courtyard or garden. We offer 2 lounge rooms - the ‘Main lounge’ is the larger of the two and preferred by those who wish to talk and participate in activities. The ‘Garden lounge’ is smaller and enjoyed by those who need a bit of peace and quiet.

We have 2 skilled chef’s onsite who provide 3 nutritious meals a day (plus morning tea & afternoon tea) for our residents. Each season introduces new meals that are cooked in our kitchen and rotated for variety.

We offer subsidised and privately funded care, respite, carer support and day stay options.

We provide specialist care for those who have been assessed for needing dementia specialised care / interventions and are appropriately trained to do so.

Our Healthcare Assistants are supervised by a Registered Nurse, receive on-going training and support and have competencies tested ensuring that care is delivered in a safe and timely manner.

Our dynamic Diversional Therapist is responsible for the daily programme. After assessing each resident to determine their individual requirements, a plan is created that meets their needs in relation to diversional, motivational and recreational therapy with the purpose of promoting quality of life and minimising difficult behaviours. These activities aim to reflect former routines and activities that are still familiar to each resident.
